Party of Aslan Abashidze and Right Opposition: Industrialists - New bloc break 7% threshold
As of 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 30, 1,055,544 ballots have been processed at the computer center, which constitutes two thirds of the total number of voters who took part in the elections, chairman of the Georgian Central Election Commission Zurab Chiaberashvili told a press conference on Tuesday.
According to the commission's preliminary data, the votes are distributed as follows: the ruling party National Movement - Democrats (led by Mikhail Saakashvili) won 65.6% of the vote; the Union of Democratic Revival (led by head of Adjaria Aslan Abashidze) - 8.24%; and the bloc Right Opposition: Industrialists - New (led by David Gamkrelidze and Gogi Topadze) - 7.18%.
The other subjects of the elections gained less than 7% of the vote.
0.21% voted against all candidates.
The Georgian Central Election Commission received data from Adjaria in the morning on Tuesday. After they had been processed, the party of Aslan Abashidze broke the 7% threshold, according to the preliminary data.
