MCC finds four members of "Hizb ut-Tahrir" guilty in case of putsch planning

The Moscow City Court has found the guilt of four Caucasian natives to be completely proven. The defendants are members of the organization "Hizb-ut-Tahrir al-Islami", which is banned in Russia, and they were accused of plotting an attempt to overthrow the constitutional order in the Russian Federation.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the trial in the case was started on June 2. Public prosecutors demanded to sentence the defendants to 10-14 years of imprisonment in a high-security penal colony. Earlier, advocates and Bakhram Khamroev, a staff member of the Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial", engaged in dealing with issues on Central Asia and Islam, have voiced their doubts about the neutrality of the trial.

Saipulla Kurbanov and Shamil Ismailov, two Dagestani doctors, and Zakrillokhon Rakhmonkhodjaev and Azizbek Inamov, two unemployed natives of Central Asia, were found guilty of possession of ammunition and explosive substances, preparation and involvement of other persons in actions aimed at seizing power and overthrowing constitutional order.
