Law on meetings finally passed by Armenian parliament
The National Assembly of Armenia passed the Law "On the Procedure for Holding Gatherings, Meetings, Manifestations, and Demonstrations" in the third and final reading on April 28. "The law provides for clear rights and obligations of the organizers of and participants in public actions, it regulates authorities of the police and empowered organ, as well as the grounds and procedure for stopping the actions," said Minister of Justice David Arutyunian, who presented the draft law. The clause on administrative detention is preserved in the law.
