Project aimed at social and economic integration of displaced persons in Stavropol Region
The Social and Economic Rights of Migrants as an Essential Condition for Successful Integration: Practice of the System Approach project is implemented in Stavropol Region. It is financed by the Swiss embassy. The non-profit partnership Managerial Consulting has conducted researches to disclose the general situation with the rights of workers and has trained consultants in the field of social and economic rights.
The project working group gathered for a conference on April 22. The group consists of representatives of the federal and regional government, regional trade unions, the Office of the Commissioner on Human Rights in Stavropol Region, scientists, teachers of the regional institutes of higher education, and representatives of public migrant organizations and associations of employers. They were presented preliminary results of the survey on workers' rights, which showed that displaced persons were subjected to violations of labor rights more than other people in the region.
The authors and doers of the project believe that technologies for protecting and promoting rights of migrants can be applied to solve problems of other purely protected sections of the population.
