Popkov: police re-considers Pussy Riot incident with Cossacks in Sochi
The Sochi police had ruled not to open a criminal case on Pussy Riot members about beating them by Cossacks on February 19. The ruling was then appealed against by the prosecutor's office; and on April 12, the Sochi UVD (Interior Department) should make another decision on the matter, the lawyer Alexander Popkov has reported.
On March 22, the transport police division of Sochi ruled not to open a criminal case on the incident of the Pussy Riot in Sochi due to "absence of the corpus delicti," said Alexander Popkov, who is representing the interests of the beaten members of the punk band.
The ruling was challenged by the Sochi City Prosecutor's Office; and now the materials about the Pussy Riot-Cossacks conflict have been sent for re-investigation, the "Yugopolis" reports.
