Head of precinct election commission detained in Adjaria

The head of a precinct election commission in Adjaria's Khulo district who tried to start preparing to the holding of the second round of elections for the Georgian parliament set for April 18 has been detained, reported the press service of the Our Adjaria movement. The detained man faces charges under the article "hooliganism", according to Our Adjaria.

Djambul Shaminadze, head of the precinct election commission in the village of Danisparauli, which is in the Khulo election district, was detained by officers of law-enforcement agencies in the morning of April 16 in a hospital ward, to which he had been taken with signs of beating the day before.
