Mikhail Gorbachev is not going to Georgia, his press secretary says
The Gorbachev Foundation has expressed bewilderment in connection with the protest by Georgian human rights defenders against the visit of the former president of the USSR to Tbilisi allegedly appointed for April 9. "We have no information that Mikhail Sergeevich is going to visit Georgia. And if he has no plans to go there, what are we expected to comment on?" Gorbachev's press secretary Vladimir Polyakov said on April 8. "Maybe there were some talks [about the trip], but there are no concrete plans," he added.
