Militants' TV repeater seized in Chechnya
In Chechnya on April 5, law enforcement officers discovered a repeater that militants used to broadcast their speeches on television.
The repeater was found in Chechnya's Gudermes district, a source at the Chechen Interior Ministry told the Caucasian Knot correspondent. Militants edged themselves into local television broadcasts and translated their programs with the help of this device. "During a special operation, we detained a resident of the Gudermes district who collaborated with terrorists. We cannot announce his name in the interests of investigation. The detainee had a Funai videotape recorder on him. It was made over into a repeater," the source said. Criminal procedures have been instituted against the detained resident of the Gudermes district.
