Ingush NGOs demand to solve problems of refugees affected by Ossetian-Ingush conflict

The Executive Committee of the Coordination Council of Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) of the Republic of Ingushetia has appealed to the authorities of the republic in connection with the anniversary of the events of 1992 in the Prigorodny District of North Ossetia. According to the appeal, the republic's authorities should ensure the return of refugees to their places of residence and to take measures to bring to justice the persons responsible for the outbreak of the conflict.

Magomed Mutsolgov, a human rights activist, the leader of the organization "Mashr", has published in his blog on the "Caucasian Knot" the appeal of the Executive Committee of the Coordination Council of NGOs of Ingushetia addressed to Yunus-Bek Evkurov, the leader of the republic, and to MPs.

The appeal states that the authorities of the federal centre and the two republics intentionally violate the constitutional rights of the citizens of Ingush nationality to return to their former places of residence in the Prigorodny District and in Vladikavkaz, refuse to take measures to eliminate the tragic consequences of the events occurred in autumn of 1992.

The document's authors urge the authorities of the republic to ensure the return of internally displaced persons (IDPs) to all communities of their former residence in the territory of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania, to compensate material and moral damages, and to enforce the full extent of the law on rehabilitation of repressed peoples.
