In Georgia, two former staff members of Rustavi Prison No. 16 detained on charges of torturing prisoners
The District Prosecutor's Office of the Kvemo Kartli Region has detained former inspectors of the Security Division of the Rustavi Prison No. 16 on charges of beating and torturing prisoners.
In particular, Temur Korshiya and Georgy Djgarkava were detained. They are charged of beating, torturing and humiliating prisoners.
According to the investigators' version, the former prison staff members forced prisoners "to pass through a corridor" aiming to oppress and demoralize them. They humiliated prisoners by inflicting physical and verbal abuse, forced them to take off their clothes, put on their knees, do sit-ups and run along the territory of the penitentiary institution, the "Interpressnews" reports with reference to the message of the General Prosecutor's Office.
