In the first three months of 2013, 37 persons fell victim to the armed conflict in Chechnya
In Chechnya, in the period from January 1 to March 31, 2012, at least 37 persons fell victim to the armed conflict, including 20 killed and 17 wounded persons. These are the results of the calculations made by the "Caucasian Knot" based on its own materials and information from other open sources.
The death toll includes 4 employees of law-enforcement bodies, 15 persons, involved, according to law-enforcement bodies, in the armed underground, and one civilian.
The list of wounded persons includes 3 civilians and 14 power agents.
In January, 22 persons became victims - 14 persons perished, and eight more were wounded. In February, two persons were wounded. In March, the republic had 13 victims, including six casualties and seven wounded persons.
The above statistics is unable to reflect, with a 100-percent precision, the number of victims under each of the categories specified in the report. Not all the data gets into news reports. It is not always possible to check the truthfulness of the statements made by law-enforcement bodies.
Let us note here that in 2012, 174 persons fell victim to the conflict in the republic, including 82 casualties and 92 wounded persons. In 2011, the number of victims of the armed conflict in Chechnya was at least 201; of them, at least 95 persons were killed and 106 more were wounded.
