In the third quarter of 2012, 35 persons fell victim to armed conflict in Kabardino-Balkaria

Kabardino-Balkaria remains one of the hot points of tension in Northern Caucasus. In July-September 2012, in the territory of the republic, at least 35 persons fell victims to the armed conflict. Of these, 25 were killed and 10 were wounded. These are the results of calculations of the "Caucasian Knot" based on own materials of the edition and information from open sources.

The death toll includes 3 power agents, 21 persons, who, according to the law enforcement agencies, were involved in the armed underground, and 1 civilian.

The number of wounded persons includes 5 power agents and 5 civilians.

Meanwhile, in September, in the republic, 12 persons fell victim to the armed conflict; in August, 5 persons suffered: 4 persons were killed and 1 was wounded; in July, 18 persons suffered: 9 persons were killed and 9 were wounded.

One should understand that the above statistics cannot reflect with absolute accuracy the number of victims in each of the identified categories of the survey. Not all the data get into news reports. It is not always possible to verify the reliability of statements made by law enforcement bodies.

In the first quarter of 2012, according to the calculations of the "Caucasian Knot", in the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR), at least 43 persons suffered. Of these, 32 persons were killed and at least 11 were wounded. In April-June 2012, in the territory of the republic, at least 41 persons suffered: 25 persons were killed and 16 were wounded.

It should be noted that in 2011, in Kabardino-Balkaria, at least 173 persons fell victim to the armed conflict. Of these, 129 persons were killed and 44 were wounded.
