Central Election Committee of South Osetia registered nine presidential candidates

Central Election Committee (CEC) of South Osetia has registered nine candidates for Presidency of the republic. Registration of candidates for promotion from two initiative campaign groups and Chief Trainer of freestyle wrestling of the Russian Federation Jambolat Tedeev was denied. The “Caucasian Knot” correspondent received this information from Bella Plieva, Chairperson of CEC of South Osetia.

“We have already registered nine candidates. They are: Alan Kochiev (tutor of a children’s sports school), Vladimir Kelekhsaev (entrepreneur), Vadim Tskhovrebov, Director of a baked goods factory), Dmitry Tasoev, (Chairman of Social Democratic party), Aivar Bestaev (surgeon of the Republican hospital), Alan Kotaev, (Deputy Mayor of Tskhinvali), Anatoly Bibilov (Head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of South Osetia), Soslan Tedeev (commander of riot squad of the Ministry of Interior Affairs of South Osetia) and Sergey Bitiev (employee of the Ministry of Justice of the republic)”, Plieva said.

“We denied registration of candidates from two initiative campaign groups: Vasily Bestaev and Lev Gagiev for the documents they submitted fell short of the regulations and there was a number of infringements in them. Jambolat Tedeev did not meet the demands from the point of view of residential qualification (point, 1, clause 48 of the Constitution of South Osetia)”, Head of CEC explained.

All in all, according to Plieva, 30 persons appealed to CEC of South Osetia.

Registration of documents for candidates’ nomination is over. Many of them did not submit subscription lists but they still have time till October, 9.
