South Ossetia: Russian citizen was killed in brawl with policemen
In the Republic of South Ossetia the incident that occurred on July 22 between a Russian citizen and local policemen is under investigation – the Russian citizen was killed at the brawl.
"Two South-Ossetian militiamen came into conflict with a native of Russia at a roadside cafe after he accidentally spilled a militiaman's beer," said Boris Chochiev, Deputy Prime Minister of South Ossetia. According to his story, the Russian citizen was an employee of the Company "Megaphone", establishing communication network for cellular phones in the republic.
Mr Chochiev stressed that the militiamen were not in duty status. "They were dressed in civilian clothes and off duty," said First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic.
Mr Chochiev claims that there was no fight. "One of the militiamen pushed the Russian citizen, after that the latter fell and hit his head on something hard. I am confident that the man was not beaten after that," said Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic.
