Armenia ratifies European Social Charter
The National Assembly of Armenia ratified the Revised European Social Charter at the December 25 special session. The Charter is one of the fundamental documents of the Council of Europe, it supplements the European Convention on Human Rights, informed the press service of the Armenian parliament.
In conformity with the Charter, Armenia is to make up a labor inspection that will watch how the social rights are observed in the relations between an employer and an employee. Besides, Armenia undertakes to submit a report on the implementation of the Charter to the PACE every two years.
To note, Armenia undertook to the Council of Europe to ratify the Charter before January 2004. In view of it, the president presented it at the special session he convoked on December 25 by his decree.
