Civil activist Timur Tskhovrebov beaten in Tskhinvali
Today, at about 1:00 p.m. in Tskhinvali, Timur Tskhovrebov, a civil activist and initiator of creation of the "Republican Party-Iron" in South Ossetia, was beaten. Supposedly, there were about 10 attackers.
The fact of beating was reported by Alan Tskhurbaev, author of the blog "Ossetia and Around: View from Inside", which he runs in the "Caucasian Knot". He refers to the story written down from Tskhovrebov's words by Vissarion Aseyev, a member of the political board of the "Iron" Party.
Mr Aseyev said that the activist was beaten, threatened with firearms and promised to be murdered. Tskhovrebov has his arm broken and his neck cut. Now he in hospital in plaster and with his head wounds stitched up.
According to blogger Tskhurbaev, "yesterday Timur received threats from Kazimir Pliev by phone." He also noted that the pretext for the attack could be "the voyage of a group of civil activists from Tskhinvali to Holland."
