50 persons came to Estemirova's commemoration picket

Today, one year after kidnapping and murder of Natalia Estemirova, an employee of the Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial", a picket in Moscow brought together 50 persons. As reported by the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent, there are flowers and lit candles under Estemirova's portrait; and the names of human rights defenders who perished in recent years are written on the asphalt nearby - Magomed Evloev, Maksharip Aushev, Farid Babayev and Anna Politkovskaya.

Among those who came to the picket were: Oleg Orlov, chairman of the HRC "Memorial"; Tatiana Lokshina, Russia's researcher of the Human Rights Watch; Natalia Taubina, director of the Foundation "Public Verdict"; Friederike Behr, a member of the Amnesty International, activists of the Antiwar Club and "Civil Assistance" Committee.

The picket is held near the monument to Griboedov (Chistye Prudy metro station). Then, at 7:00 p.m., a memorial party will start in the HRC "Memorial" at 12 Maly Karetny Pereulok.
