Lawyer Magomedova, beaten by militiamen, transferred to Makhachkala

The health condition of lawyer Sapiyat Magomedova, who was beaten by employees of the GOVD (City Interior Department) of Khasavyurt, remains grave. Her relatives, who feared that she would lack qualified medical help while in Khasavyurt, insisted on her transfer to the Republic's Clinical Hospital in Makhachkala.

According to the relatives Sapiyat cannot even move by herself. She is in consciousness, but practically cannot speak and eat normally.

Lawyer Biyakai Magomedov said that Sapiyat was taken away from Khasavyurt "because she would not be properly treated there." Her relatives are afraid that the head of local militia can prevent doctors to issue a medical conclusion on her health condition and render medical aid.

Sapiyat Magomedova was representing the interests of Malika Evtemirova, who had been detained by militiamen at the post located at entrance to Khasavyurt. When Sapiyat learnt about detention, she came to the GOVD, where the incident with her beating took place.

Bosses of the Khasavyurt GOVD refused to give any comments.
