Dmitri Medvedev makes a visit to Chechnya

Firstly, President of the Russian Federation Dmitri Medvedev paid a visit to the tomb of the first President of Chechnya Ahmad Kadyrov in Tsentoroy village, then held a meeting in Grozny on development issues of the republic with participation of the head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov, Plenipotentiary of the President in the NCFD (North-Caucasian Federal District) Alexander Khloponin, First Deputy Head of the President's Administration Vladislav Surkov and Director of the FSB Alexander Bortnikov.

Let us remind you that as reported earlier by the "Caucasian Knot", because of the visit of Russian leader the central Grozny and the districts in the vicinity of the Grozny airport were blocked by reinforced units of policemen and militaries. Motor traffic in the centre of Grozny was completely stopped by power agents.

As reported by the "Interfax", President of Russia noted, in particular, positive changes in the republic's safety status. He said that although the struggle against militants gives "quite good results", at the same time, the priority attention should be given, in the opinion of the head of the state, to the republic's social and economic development and restoration of the republic.

Mr Medvedev highlighted pretty plenty problems in agriculture and spoke, in particular, about low level of technical equipment of agrarian entities and high degree of wear and tear of machines and mechanisms.

The meeting also dealt with insufficient construction of specialized establishments for disabled children.
