In Sochi, eight public organizations coalize to fight corruption

Eight public and human rights organizations of Sochi have declared setting up a permanent coalition and uniting efforts towards fighting corruption in power bodies. This was stated at a press conference in Sochi The head on May 7 by Mikhail Vinyukov, head of the Sochi-based "Service for Defence of Citizens' Rights and Interests".

The press conference was visited by Alexei Dymovskiy, a former militia major from Novorossisk and nowadays the leader of the human rights organization "White Tape". Answering questions of media people, he highlighted the role of the independent press as the fourth branch of power. Mr Dymovskiy said that the mission of his organization is to unite human rights structures and oppositional parties for building the civil society.

In the opinion of the head of the "White Tape", today the Internet is "a really good platform for counteracting injustice, human rights violations and corruption." "Dialogues, freedom of speech and diversity of opinions are possible here, and we successfully make use of them," Alexei Dymovskiy has emphasized and recommended the audience to address the website of the "White Tape", which accumulates, according to his story, information about corruption, victims of bureaucrats' arbitrariness and about "those who abuse their service positions and enjoy the arbitrary rule."

"When people are solidary and friendly in struggling for their rights, the authorities will have to respect the demands of the majority," said Mr Dymovskiy.
