In Armenia, police disperses an action in support of journalist Pashinyan

On January 19, the police of Armenia dispersed a spontaneous rally of the opposition in support of Nikol Pashinyan, convicted editor of the newspaper "Aikakan Zhamanak".

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Nikol Pashinyan was sentenced on January 19 to 7 years of imprisonment by the court of general jurisdiction of Yerevan communities Centre-Nork Marash under presidence of Judge Mnatsakan Martirosyan.

Activists of the opposition, led by heads of oppositional parties, gathered at the building of the Yerevan court, where litigation against Pashinyan was completed and the verdict was announced. They scanned slogans accusing the Armenian justice of immorality and demanding to release the convict.

The "Gazeta.Ru" Agency reports that the group of protesters was dispersed by the order of the deputy head of the Department of the Police of Yerevan.
