Makhachkala residents are angry with power agents blocking central streets
Today, the centre of Makhachkala is again blocked by KamAZ trucks; traffic is absolutely blocked in the vicinity of the central square, which houses the buildings of the President's Administration and the Government of Dagestan, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, FSB and the Supreme Court of the republic.
The district is patrolled by the armed people, any photo and video filming is forbidden. As earlier stated by Magomed Baachilov, head of the Security Council of Dagestan, these measures were undertaken in the context of available information about a prepared terror act similar to the one committed on January 6 at the Road Patrol Service in Makhachkala.
Rumours also circulate in the city that the measures may have to do with possible protest actions that might be held in the central square by protesters after Dmitri Medvedev names his candidate to the post of President of Dagestan.
Meanwhile, residents of Makhachkala express their discontent with the actions of power agents. The city suffers from tremendous jams, residents fail to get in time to work. The shortest way to the railway station is blocked, and public transport stopped departing from there.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that during the blockade of the central streets of Makhachkala, on January 13, armed FSB agents forced newspaper photographer Ruslan Alibekov to destroy his photos made in the process of building concrete barriers at the building of the FSB Department for Dagestan.
