In South Ossetia, Georgian teenagers are sentenced to a year of imprisonment, two of them - conditionally

The trial is over in Tskhinvali of the four Georgian minors detained on November 4, 2009, by power agents of South Ossetia.

Nelli Tibilova, Judge of the Supreme Court of the Republic of South Ossetia, has announced the verdict, according to which for illegal crossing the border and illegal purchase and storage of explosives, and also for a theft, Levan Khmiadashvili, born in 1992, and Victor Buchukuri, born in 1993, are sentenced to one year of imprisonment each with serving the term in a minimum security corrective colony. Georgiy Romelashvili, born in 1995, and Aliko Tsabadze, born in 1995, are sentenced to one conditional year and released in the courtroom.

In the opinion of the court, in the course of the trial the guilt of the defendants was proved. They have partially admitted it.

Meanwhile, Thomas Hammarberg, Supreme Commissioner for Human Rights of the Council of Europe, who is now in Tskhinvali, does not agree with the verdict and demands a release of all the four detained citizens of Georgia. The negotiations continue.

The parents of the three citizens of South Ossetia, detained by the Georgian party on October 15, 2008, are also dissatisfied with the decision of the court. They demand to return Alan Khachirov, 15, Alan Khugaev, 18, and Soslan Pliev, 25, whose fate is still unknown.
