Yakunin: explosion of "Neva-Express" reminds the 2007 incident
The character of explosion at the derailing accident of the "Neva-Express" train, which happened last night, on November 27, in the border of the Tver and Novgorod Regions, reminds the blowing up of the same train in August, 2007.
This was stated by Vladimir Yakunin, president of the Russian Railways in the course of the videoconference with the operative staff on liquidation of the accident consequences.
According to Mr Yakunin, in "Neva-Express" train accident unidentified persons triggered a bomb.
On the fact of the train accident a criminal case was initiated under the articles of "terrorism" criminal case under articles "terrorism" and "illegal circulation of firearms". The locomotive driver of the "Neva-Express" believes that the explosion took place under his electric locomotive. Eyewitnesses say that they saw a crater near the most damaged cars.
