Elections in Chechnya: reaction of Maskhadov's government
On October 6 the press service of the foreign ministry of Chechnya's government in exile propagated a statement in which it roundly denounced so called presidential elections.
The statement reads the elections foiled as they had no voters. "Only Russian elements of chasteners and several thousands of officers of Russian occupation structures participated in this show."
"The Chechen nation, in spite of the treats and violence from the direction of Russian special services and Kadyrov's criminal bands, refused to play a part in this farce of free will. The Chechen people rejected the hand of Russian genocide and showed Chechnya could not be subjugated", reads the statement.
