Minasyan: militant speeches of Azerbaijani President threaten stability in Southern Caucasus
As reported by Armen Minasyan, chair of the Yerevan-based "Democracy and Peace Centre", the statement of Ilham Aliev, President of Azerbaijan, about possible force solution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is a threat to regional stability.
President Aliev said that should the meeting of Presidents of Azerbaijan and Armenia on November 22 in Munich on settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict bring no results, the war in Nagorno-Karabakh can restart.
"If we treat Mr Aliev's statement seriously, then, I think, first of all, the international community should react. The countries and organizations, which have their interests in the region, should not disregard this statement," the "Interfax" quotes Mr Minasyan as saying.
Masis Mailyan, chairman of the public board on foreign policy and security of Nagorno-Karabakh, has treated Ilham Aliev's words as an attempt to exert pressure on the Armenian party and blackmail the international mediators, as the "NEWS.am" writes.
