Bribery of voters had place in Khanbi-Irze village
An interesting picture could be seen in the village of Khanbi-Irze in the Achkhoy-Martan district on October 5, the day of Chechen presidential elections. As locals assert, Russian military men solemnly gave a small "present" to each villager who was leaving the election center after voting.
The "present" consisted of two packs of sugar, two packs of tea, and two packs of pastry. At the same time the military men thanked each voter personally for his/her "participation in the elections". Such actions seem to be classified in international practice just as bribery of voters.
