Situation in Chechnya one day before elections
The day before the elections has started quietly. No shot was heard at night in Chechnya. There have been a lot of militiamen in the towns and district centers of the republic ever since the morning. All the polling stations are under vigilant control of order guards. The attendance on October 5 is expected to be high. About 600 thousand voters will take part in the voting, servicemen of the Russian Armed Forces who are located in the Chechen Republic at permanent posts being included.
