The problem of the Nagorno-Karabah conflict settlement will be discussed during the first plenary session of the "South Caucasian Parliamentary Initiative". Armenian National Assembly Vice Speaker Tigran Torosian announced it while commenting the results of the presidium sessions of the "South Caucasian Parliamentary Initiative" that had taken place in Riga and Vilnius. According to his words, the next plenary session is planned for December 2003.
The vice speaker of the Armenian parliament informed that sessions will be held twice a year. Beginning from 2004 Georgia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan will be in the chair of the organization in turn. Each delegation consists of 10 people, 3 of them are permanent.
Torosian also said a special workgroup to prevent and settle South Caucasian conflicts and increase the role of parliaments in the settlement of these conflicts was established within the framework of the Initiative.
