Data on shelling two helicopters in Chechnya is contradictory

Militaries and law enforcers of Chechnya give contradictory information about the incident in the morning on July 8 in the mountain area of the republic. Earlier, it was reported that in Shatoy District two helicopters of federal forces were shelled, and one soldier was wounded.

So far, Chechnya has no particular data about the circumstances of the attack on combat helicopters. Militaries neither confirm nor refute this information; while law enforcement bodies are unaware of what power agency of Russia is the owner of the helicopters.

In Chechnya, helicopters are used by the units of the Ministry of Defence, Internal Troops of Russia's MIA and Frontier Troops, which are part of the FSB (Federal Security Bureau).
