ICPO: successes in investigating resonant terror acts in Ingushetia and Dagestan

Alexander Bastrykin, head of the Investigatory Committee at the Prosecutor's Office (ICPO) of the Russian Federation, has stated that there are serious achievements in disclosing the attempt on President of Ingushetia Yunus-Bek Evkurov and the murder of the Minister of Interior of Dagestan Adilgerei Magomedtagirov.

According to Mr Bastrykin, in particular, the inspectors dealing with the attempt on the Ingush President possess video materials, which are now analyzed by experts.

"The latest terror acts in Dagestan and Ingushetia were like militants' snarl, an attempt to intimidate those engaged in the investigation," the head of the ICPO has emphasized.

He believes that "terrorism in Northern Caucasus is an outgoing topic, provided special operations continue, statehood becomes stronger and inspectors learn to open crimes," the "Rossiiskaya Gazeta" writes.

Alexander Bastrykin also told about the progress in investigating the crimes of Georgian militaries during last year's warfare in South Ossetia. According to his story, "the corpus delicti has been completely proved: genocide and massacre of peaceful citizens," the "Interfax" reports. In total, 5315 persons have been recognized as victims.
