Dispersal victims of November 7, 2007, in Georgia file complaint to European Court

Advocates of the NGO named "Priority of Human Rights" have sent a complaint of the citizens, who suffered in the course of dispersal of a protest action in Tbilisi on November 7, 2007, to the European Court on Human Rights.

The NGO has reported that the demonstration, during which citizens expressed their peaceful protest against country leaders, was dispersed by the police. As a result, many citizens received physical injuries.

"In February 2009, three victims, whose physical condition was extremely grave, addressed us for legal aid. The applicants stated that the government of the country had breached their rights to live, the freedom of expression, assembly and manifestation," the "Georgia Online" quotes the NGO's statement.

Along with that, the NGO "Priority of Human Rights" remarks that the respective law enforcement bodies had failed to investigate the facts of violation of human rights, as reported by the "New Region".

"The applicants were not recognized as victims. Now, two years after the crime, none of those guilty was ever found," the NGO has stated.
