Polish journalist considers the attack on him in Moscow by persons of Caucasian origin as an accident

Andjey Zaukha, Polish TVN channel correspondent, calls the attack on him in Moscow on May 24 when he was crossing the street "an absolute accident" not connected with his journalist's work.

"Three persons of Caucasian origin were in the car, they jumped off and started shouting. They beat me in the face, I fell down. It was an absolute accident, there is no connection with journalist's work", said Zaukha.

The incident occurred in the south-west of the capital in the area of Nakhimov Avenue near the metro station "Akademicheskaya" where the journalist lives together with his wife. In his interview to TVN24, Andjey who is in hospital now has confirmed that he was crossing the street by a crosswalk against the green light when a car nearly ran over him, reports radio "Echo of Moscow".

According to Vatslav Radzivinovich, correspondent of Gazeta Wyborcza, Andjey's state of health needs serious medical treatment. According to him, on May 26 Zaukha will undergo an operation.

"If Andjey had failed to jump aside he would have been knocked down. Then the car stopped and Andjey shouted something like: "Are you mad?", after which three persons of non-slav appearance got out of the car and beat him", said Radzivinovich.
