Investigation: massacre in Baku Academy was a pre-planned crime

Two persons were arrested in the case on the massacre committed on April 30 in Baku at the Azerbaijani State Oil Academy (ASOA). This is reported in the joint statement of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) and State Office of Public Prosecutor of Azerbaijan, which arrived to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent in the evening on May 4.

Nadir Aliev, one of the detainees, took part in the crime as a helper of Fardy Gadirov, the gunman in the ASOA. Earlier it was reported that he sold gyro sandwiches (burrito) near the ASOA building. The investigation has already charged Aliev of complicity in the crime.

The inspectors have established that Gadirov was talking, on a regular basis, by his mobile phone with Aliev, who was, like the killer, a native of Dashtepe village, Marneul District of Georgia.

However, the statement gives no details on Aliev's particular role in committing the crime.

Another figurant attracted to the investigation is Dzhavidan Amirov, Gadirov's relative, a resident of Shulaveri village, Marneul District, who arrived to Baku on March 12. During a search of the apartment where he lived, policemen found 12 cartridges to AKM sub-machine gun and "Makarov" pistol, and 5.04 grams of hashish. Amirov was charged under respective articles of the Criminal Code; and it was decided to restrict his freedom by means of arrest.

The investigation has also proved that Gadirov committed suicide by shooting at his temple.

Asad Gadirov, Fardy Gadirov's father, who lives in Russia, confirmed, in the course of identification that it was his son.
