Russian Joint Staff to disclose Georgia's plans in Abkhazia

On Monday, Anatoly Nogovitsyn, Deputy Chief of the Joint Staff of Russian Armed Forces, told journalists that tomorrow, on August 26, the Joint Staff of Russian Armed Forces will make public the intelligence data about Georgia's warfare plans in Abkhazia.

Earlier, it was reported that President of Georgia Mikhail Saakashvili did not give up his intention to return Abkhazia and South Ossetia back into his country. This was the news published by The New York Times.

"Preliminary preparation and plans... up to occupation of Sukhumi, they are so obvious that we'll be able to prove who the actual aggressor was, and who had planned to be such in the second (Georgian-Abkhazian) direction," Mr Nogovitsyn said.

As to the South-Ossetian direction, measures are taken to restore the fighting capacity of Georgian troops, the RIA "Novosti" quotes Anatoly Nogovitsyn as saying.

The escalation of the NATO's Navy in the Black Sea is also "warming up" the tension in the region, said the General.

According to his data, now there are nine ships of NATO countries in the Black Sea, including two from the USA, one from Spain, Germany and Poland each, and four from Turkey, the ITAR-TASS reports.
