General Prosecutor's Office of Armenia: 46 participants of March 1 disorders arrested

According to the latest data of the State Office of Public Prosecutor of Armenia, 125 persons were brought to police stations during the disorders on March 1, of them 46 persons were indicted and arrested, and 20 more are detained and wait for indictments to be presented to them within three days.

Police Colonel Sayat Shirinyan, head of the press service of the Police of Armenia, has treated the situation in Yerevan as stable and quiet.

According to his version, on March 1-2, 217 persons were treated in hospitals of the country, including the Hospital of the Police Medical Service, of them 41 civilians, 43 policemen and 133 soldiers, mainly aged 18-20.

Mr Shirinyan has also informed that after clearing of the Freedom Square from the demonstrators, policemen found there 3 pistols, 9 grenades, 2 self-made grenades, 2 noise grenades, 1 explosive device, 200 grams of explosive and 172 different calibre cartridges.

As a result of mass disorders, a total of 26 passenger cars, 6 buses and 3 trolleybuses were burnt down and damaged. In the Grigor Lusavorich Avenue, near the fish shop and the Mashtots Avenue the policemen detected 1721 cartridge cases, 30 cartridges, 2 signalling fire boxes, 155 metal rods and truncheons, 1 syringe, 1 shoemaker's knife and about 150 litres of fuel.
