New protest rally to be held by opposition in Ingushetia

On March 12 in Ingushetia, leaders of the opposition plan to bring their supporters to a new rally in protest against corruption in power bodies and violations of human rights in the Republic.

The action, which claims to have the status of a nationwide event, will take place in the city of Nazran. The rally is being prepared by the specially created Organizing Committee.

One of the organizers of the rally said that "this meeting is directed, first of all, against corruption in the top management of the Republic and actions of the workers of power agencies, who often victimize the citizens who have nothing to do with militants, as well as against illegal detentions and extrajudicial executions of the young people, whose involvement in illegal armed formations was not proved."

According to the interlocutor, this time, the organizers have fulfilled all the requirements of the law on carrying out an event of this kind. In compliance with the law, 15 days prior to the appointed date, a notification about the public event was sent to the Government of the Republic of Ingushetia (RI) and the administration of the city of Nazran.

"Late in February, the organizers of the rally tried to submit the notification, but the office of the Government refused to accept it. Then, the document was sent to Chairman of the Government of Ingushetia by mail. Thus, as far as the circumstances allowed, all the preparatory actions have been made in full conformity with the law," the spokesman of the Organizing Committee said.
