Dagestani activist Rabadanov reports injuries he got during his detention

During his detention by the police in Makhachkala, activist Ramazan Rabadanov suffered a cervical vertebrae injury.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on November 20, activists pointed out the political nature of the Ramazan Rabadanov’s prosecution. The court ignored the arguments presented by the Ramazan Rabadanov’s defence, including the report of his beating by law enforcers.

Residents of Dagestan were outraged by the detention of Ramazan Rabadanov, who spoke in defence of the defendants in the case on riots at the airport in Makhachkala. A Ramazan Rabadanov’s son, staying in the special military operation (SMO) zone, recorded an appeal to Russian President Vladimir Putin and asked him to take control over the situation. On November 20, the Supreme Court (SC) of Dagestan refused to mitigate the pre-trial restriction measure for Ramazan Rabadanov and left him in custody.

“During the detention, his cervical vertebrae were damaged, and he urgently needs help in restoring them with special medical equipment, since he has not been able to sleep normally for a single night since the detention,” reported Shamil Khadulaev, the chair of the Public Oversight Commission (POC) of Dagestan.

The administration of the SIZO (pre-trial prison) promised to provide Ramazan Rabadanov with all the necessary help.
