Bombardment of Tskhinval, capital of South Ossetia, stopped

The bombardment of the city of Tskhinval, the capital of South Ossetia, from the territory of Georgia that has lasted tonight for almost two hours was stopped.

Yuri Vereschak, assistant commander of the Mixed Peacekeeping Forces in the Georgian-Ossetian conflict zone, has stated that after the monitoring that the peacekeepers are going to hold it will be possible to exactly define the initiator of the skirmish, the "Vzglyad" (Outlook) Agency reports.

Representatives of the monitoring group are now studying the place of the incident. Currently, they restrain from any comments. There are no victims from the Georgian fire, the "Gazeta.Ru" informs.

Boris Chochiev, co-chairman of the Mixed Control Commission (MCC) from the South-Ossetian party, has informed that according to his data four persons were wounded. He has also noted that according to preliminary data there are significant destructions in the city, the "Interfax" reports.
