A countryman kidnapped in Galskiy District of Abkhazia

On the night of April 21, culprits seized a man of 27 as hostage and demanded a 70,000 US dollars worth ransom for him.

"Yesterday at night, in Gaguida village, six armed persons in masks attacked the Gamisoniya family. For several hours they tortured the family members and then seized on of them, Gocha Gamisoniya, 27, as a hostage", Paata Shamugiya, deputy coordinator of Abkhazian authorities in exile for the Galskiy direction, stated on air of "Rustavi-2" TV Company.

According to him, the attackers also took away the money and jewellery. At first, they wanted to kidnap a child, but then changed their mind, the IA "Novosti-Georgia" reports.

According to the latest information, the hostage is kept at the pre-trial facility of Galskiy District militia, the "Gazeta.Ru" correspondent informs from Tbilisi. We note here that according to the information of this Agency, the incident took place in Otobaya village, Galskiy District, Abkhazia.
