Sanakoev stands for autonomous South Ossetia within Georgia

Dmitri Sanakoev, alternative president of the Republic of South Ossetia, wants to enter the united Georgia in exchange for acquiring the status of a broad autonomy. He has declared it today at the 65th PA NATO Rous-Rout Workshop entitled "Georgia on the Way of Euro-Atlantic Integration."

"In exchange for certain expanded rights I am ready to enter Georgia. It is necessary to restore the territorial integrity of Georgia under the conditions of broad autonomy. In order to restore the territorial integrity, we should be guided by democratic principles," Mr. Sanakoev has stated.

According to him, South Ossetia is full of weapon and crime, therefore achieving consensus among all the forces of the region, irrespective of their viewpoints and principles is a must.

As to the broad autonomy, which is demanded by the alternative president of South Ossetia, Dmitri Sanakoev did not enumerate all the details, however, he noted speaking to journalists that it means an autonomous formation under united army and territory.
