When dispersing the picket in memory of Politkovskaya, Ingushetian militiamen have cruelly beaten a lady-collaborator of the HRC "Memorial"
In the course of dispersing the picket held in memory of deceased Anna Politkovskaya in Nazran (Ingushetia), the members of power agencies detained three participants of the action. Another lady-picketer was taken to hospital.
One of the workers of the Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial" reported: "They have arrested our collaborator Albert Khantygov, Magomed Mutsolgov, head of the "Mashr" human rights organization (organizer of the action), and one more person. Moreover, these "minions of the law" have beaten our worker Katia Sakiryanskaya. Doctors stated an open fracture of her nose."
"We're pretty bewildered with the inadequate reaction of law enforcement bodies' agents to the picket. In the afternoon, a similar picket was held in Grozny without any incidents," the source believes.
Aslambek Apaev, an expert of the Moscow Helsinki Group, sees a provocation in what has happened in Nazran. "I'm sure that it was a pre-planned provocation of special services' members," Apaev asserts.
