Explosions in Grozny are investigated in Chechnya

The law enforcement bodies of Chechnya continue investigating the circumstances of three explosions that happened in the afternoon on April 24 in Grozny, as a result of which two local power agents and Military Commandant of the city Colonel Igor Makeev were wounded.

A source in the law enforcement bodies said in his conversation with the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that all these incidents happened in the Leninskiy District of Grozny, in the plot of waste land located 150 meters off the Bilimkhanov Stadium, where some hours after the incidents a football match took place between the reserve teams of Football Clubs "Terek" and "Saturn". All three explosives were hidden into the heap of construction wastes in the vicinity of Mira Street.

Residents of the Chechen Republic do not exclude that the incidents could be an attempt of militaries to destabilize the situation and at least partially restore the counterterrorist operation (CTO) regime cancelled in Chechnya on April 16.

The "Caucasian Knot" already reported that the Operative Staff on the Chechen Republic cancelled the CTO regime introduced on April 23 in the mountainous Shali District of Chechnya. However, the CTO regime in three other Districts of the Republic - Vedeno, Shatoy and Itum-Kalin ones - is still kept.
