Pliev: Judge in Magomed Evloev's case is under prosecutors' pressure

The judge refused to re-qualify the case dealing with the murder of Magomed Evloev, owner of the website "Ingushetia.Ru", into another article of the Criminal Code because of the pressure exerted by the prosecutor's office. This opinion was stated by human rights activist and advocate Musa Pliev, now appointed as adviser of President of Ingushetia to coordinate the work of power agencies.

"Outgoing from lawyer's practice, I'd like to note that when the prosecutor's office approves a ridiculous bill of particulars on a hastily initiated case, then, it is interested to have this bill of particulars to survive, therefore, we've made this conclusion," Mr Pliev told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

"From the moment of Evloev's murder, the prosecutor's office interfered with the court and investigation. I think that there was a pressure on the judge, since she passed an absolutely absurd and illegal decision, having deprived the victims of their right to justice. This decision was made not under the law but under some other issues. The judge has breached Article 125 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, having come to the session with ready documents. This decision illegal and unconstitutional," Musa Pliev has stated.

As he said, the defence will appeal against the decision to the Supreme Court of Ingushetia on December 12.
