Nikol Pashinyan: pyramid of power in Armenia continues to collapse

Nikol Pashinyan, a member of the election office of Levon Ter-Petrosyan, made his comments at the rally of the opposition in Yerevan on the news about resignation of vice-premier of Armenia Vaan Ovannisyan and dismissal from the position of Deputy General Public Prosecutor of Armenia of Gagik Dzhangiryan:

"My dear people, while we stand here, make marches, sing and dance, the pyramid of power continues to collapse."

We remind you that today - immediately after his performance at the rally of the opposition held in support of Levon Ter-Petrosyan - Deputy Prosecutor General of Armenia, former Military Prosecutor Gagik Dzangiryan was dismissed.

Speaking to the rally, Mr Dzhangiryan has reminded that he was investigating "the case on October 27 terror act", which was illegally stopped with violations of the Code of Criminal Procedure, and promised to restart the case. Besides, he called the people of Armenia to defend their votes and stated that he had never before observed such scale of falsifications as at the election on February 19.

By the end of the rally, another news arrived: vice-speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia and presidential candidate from the ARFD Vaan Ovannisyan sent in his resignation.

Besides, five deputies have announced their intention to quit the parliamentary faction of the Republican Party of Armenia, while Armen Mkhitaryan and Rustam Gasparyan quitted the faction of the party in power "Prosperous Armenia". All the seven deputies are participants of the Karabakh war.
