Beaten supporters of Ter-Petrosyan are going not to let Sarkisyan into the President's chair of Armenia

The supporters of the Armenian presidential candidate Levon Ter-Petrosyan are resolute not to admit the presidency of Serzh Sarkisyan. Observer Gurgen Egizaryan, former Deputy Minister of Security of Armenia, who was beaten, told about it to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

"We arrived to the polling station by 10 in the morning (before we were beaten), during the time while the observers were taken out of the city, the ballot box was already half-full. We saw 500 ballot paper stubs, but according to the voters' list only 124 persons had voted", Mr Egizaryan has noted.

"The people who were beating us and our colleagues had warned us against coming back to the polling stations, otherwise they would kill our families. The women have naturally refused to return. When we tried to clear out what the matter was, we were again beaten near the station. We filed an application to the militia, but in the evening I saw on TV that I had been announced into search as a hooligan. Criminal groupings and people who were deliberately early released for committing these black crimes are behind all these events," Gurgen Egizaryan said.

Observer Evdzanik Abgaryan from Levon Ter-Petrosyan's office told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent about the events that took place on February 19 in the city of Abovyan: "We learnt that in the city of Abovyan a woman-observer from Station 28/07 and two women-observers from Station 28/06 were forced out of the city and beaten there. They were threatened not to come back to the Stations, otherwise they would be killed."
