Ter-Petrosyan's Office: the ruling clique tries to re-capture power in Armenia

Arman Musinyan, press-secretary of the electoral office of Levon Ter-Petrosyan, has stated that the presidential election is passing in Armenia with a huge number of violations and falsifications. In his opinion, the ruling circles, having no other way to win, have resorted to mass violations of the law, up to threat of execution and beatings of supporters and election agents of the oppositional candidate.

According to Mr Musinyan, most falsifications are undertaken in the cities of Abovyan and Artashat, as well as in Yerevan prefectures Erebuni and Avan. He has drawn attention to the fact that situation in Abovyan got out of control. Here, supporters of Levon Ter-Petrosyan are everywhere intimidated; many of them are expelled out of polling stations and warned that if they come back, they will take pity.

Arman Musinyan has informed that at Polling Station 28/06 the following Ter-Petrosyan's election agents were beaten: Gurgen Egiazaryan, Ambartsum Egiazaryan, Erdzhanik Abgaryan and Rumen Mirumyan. They noticed that there were about 500 ballot papers in the box, whereas by that moment only 124 voters had visited the station.

The press-secretary of Levon Ter-Petrosyan's election office has informed that there are facts at the disposal of the office of numerous cases of giving pre-election bribes by Serzh Sarkisyan's supporters, and cases of propaganda in his favour.

Meanwhile, earlier, the central election office of Armenian presidential candidate Serzh Sarkisyan had refuted media news items that supporters of the Armenian prime-minister had beaten the supporters of Levon Ter-Petrosyan.
