In October 2024, four persons perished in armed conflict in Northern Caucasus

In October 2024, five victims were recorded during the ongoing armed conflict in Northern Caucasus: two civilians and two law enforcers perished, and one law enforcer was wounded. These are the results of the calculations run by the "Caucasian Knot" based on its own materials and information from open sources.

On October 11, in Ingushetia, near the "Kavkaz" Highway, three people were killed in a car attack: a policeman and two of his relatives. According to the "Fortanga" outlet, the casualties were Ilez Aushev (39 years old), Amir Aushev (43) and Beslan Aushev (39). According to law enforcers, the target of the attack was Adam Khamkhoev, a deputy head of the Ingush MIA's Centre for Combating Extremism, who did not suffer.

On October 24, in the suburbs of Grozny, a "Rosgvardiya" (Russian National Guard) car was fired upon. One serviceman was killed, another one was wounded. The attackers managed to escape. The "Rosgvardiya" officer perished because the attack took the law enforcers by surprise, veterans of law enforcement bodies believe.

The murder of the "Rosgvardiya" officer in Chechnya may indicate activation of the armed underground, but it is unlikely to affect the reputation of Ramzan Kadyrov, who had earlier announced the elimination of militants, political analysts and human rights defenders believe.

The above statistics cannot present the number of victims with 100-percent accuracy. Not all the data get into news tapes. It is not always possible to verify the accuracy of the statements made by law enforcement bodies; and new data on the events of the reporting period sometimes become known after the publication of statistics by the "Caucasian Knot".

Earlier, in September, three victims were recorded in Northern Caucasus: two suspected militants were killed and one law enforcer was wounded in Ingushetia.
