Prosecutor asks 11 years of prison for ex-Minister of Economy in Azerbaijan
Today, Public Prosecutor Nazir Bairamov has spoken to the Court for Grave Crimes of Azerbaijan at the hearings on the case of Farkhad Aliev, ex-Minister of Economic Development, and other 18 persons.
He has asked the Court to sentence Farkhad Aliev to 11 years of imprisonment, and his brother Rafik Aliev - to 10 years in prison.
The "Caucasian Knot" has already informed that Farkhad Aliev is accused under Articles 179.3.1, 179.3.2 (embezzlement or misapplication), 192.2.1, 192.2.2 (illegal enterprise), 206.4 (contraband), 213.4 (tax evasion), 308.2 (abuse of service position), 311.3.1, 311.3.2, 311.3.3 (bribe-taking) and 313 (forgery in public office).
Rafik Aliev, ex-Minister's brother and former chairman of the board of directors of the "Azpetrol" Company is accused under Articles: 179.3.1, 179.3.2, 188 (encroachment on one's land ownership rights), 192.2.1, 192.2.2, 206.3.1, 206.4, 213.4, 259 (illegal wood-cutting) and 313 (contraband).
