Parents of missing athlete Tsomartova ask to move inquiry to Moscow
Investigators in Dagestan are inefficient in investigating the disappearance of the athlete Anna Tsomartova, the girl's parents have stated in their appeals to the director of the FSB (Russian Federal Security Service) and the senator from North Ossetia; they have asked to transfer the case to investigators in Moscow.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on April 15, the girl's mother, Diana Tsomartova, recorded a video appeal to the Russian President asking for help in searching for her daughter.
The search for Anna Tsomartova has been ongoing since February 12, 2024. She disappeared in Kaspiysk after she lost a fight at a sports tournament and was in depressed condition. Investigators have opened a murder case; and a kidnapping version is also being considered.
"Almost three months have passed since our daughter disappeared while walking along the embankment in the city of Kaspiysk. The last place where they saw her was the territory of the FSB "Dagestan" Sanatorium. Although the territory is stuffed with CCTV cameras and guarded by armed FSB agents, Anna's whereabouts are still unknown," the "Alpha News" outlet has quoted Anna's parents' as stating.
In response to their repeated appeals to the Dagestani branch of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) and to the republic's Prosecutor's Office and the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), the girl's parents receive "formal or just no replies."
Let us remind you that on March 10, Diana Tsomartova stated that after studying the materials of the case of her daughter's disappearance, she came to the conclusion that the investigators had failed to do their work properly. She filed a complaint against them.
